qEEG is utilized for initial assessment and to track a patient's progress over his/her rTMS treatment session. An EEG uses surface sensors to detect the brain's electrical patterns (known as brainwaves), which show the brain's activity. By seeing which areas have abnormal activity, the type of symptoms the patient may be experiencing can be predicted as a result. A qEEG can identify not only brainwaves, their amplitude, location and whether these patterns are typical or anomalous, but also Coherence (quality of communication between regions), and Phase (thinking speed). These are all crucial patterns involved in optimum mental functioning.

rTMS therapy is one of the most technologically advanced depression treatments available. This non-invasive, outpatient therapy is FDA cleared and has helped thousands of depression patients who have not received adequate results from antidepressants. A patient may experience remission as early as 2-6weeks into the therapy and have a greater chance to prevent the future occurrence of symptoms comparing to the traditional treatment with medication. rTMS uses a magnetic field to activate a specific brain area responsible for depression. Its safety has been well established without systematic adverse events typically seen in medication trials. The most common adverse events may include mild and transient scalp discomfort/pain and headache at the treatment area. TransHope Medical is dedicated to delivering the highest standard in rTMS therapy in an environment that is friendly and caring.
